Bridges Program

Summer of 2024 Bridges Program for rising freshmen

James Madison High School is excited to offer our Madison Bridges program to rising 9th grade students. This program is created by Madison High School staff to provide students with the essential background knowledge and skills to make a successful transition to high school. It is designed for all incoming students regardless of educational background.

The skills we will focus on during this program will be time management, organizational skills, team building, and cooperative learning. The instructors of this program will include several Madison teachers, counselors, administrators, and current Madison students from our Madison Mentors program. Students, moreover, will be introduced to the high school curriculum areas and will have a preview of some of the academic topics covered throughout the school year. Lastly, students will be given ample opportunities to tour and explore the building that they will be attending for the next four years.

When

The program will be held at Madison High School during two separate weeks: July 22 - July 26 or July 29 - August 2. The program will be from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. each day (lunch will not be provided).  Students should only sign up for one session as it is the same program each week.

Cost

The cost of the program is $100. You may pay by check or through MySchoolBucks. If paying by check, please make it payable to “James Madison High School.” In addition to the actual program, the registration fee will include an original Madison Bridges T-Shirt and lunch on the Friday session. Space for the program is limited, so please register early. Scholarships are available in cases of financial hardship; contact TJ Anderson directly to inquire ([email protected]).
