Final Exams

All courses will administer a culminating final assessment, either a final exam or a culminating learning activity. If a student receives an A or A- for all four quarters in a course that has a final exam, the student may take the graded final exam or elect to participate in an ungraded Celebration of Learning.  However, if there is no final exam, the student must participate in the culminating learning activity.  Students who elect to participate in a Celebration of Learning will have the opportunity to present to an authentic audience. Failure to participate in the Celebration of Learning will result in the requirement that the student complete the final exam.

Seniors may qualify to participate in the WINGS Program in lieu of final exams. Students who qualify to participate in the WINGS Program will have the opportunity to present to an authentic audience. Failure to participate in this presentation of their learning will result in the requirement that the student complete final exams.

If a student is going to miss one final exam day because of a pre-arranged absence, please contact the teachers to the missed exams to set up a time to take the tests or complete the activity.  If a student is going to potentially miss two or more exam days because of a pre-arranged absence, please contact an administrator to set up a make-up plan.
