Madison High School is offering an exciting exchange program with South Korea that will give students a unique cultural and educational experience.
This Exchange Program provides 10 students in grades 10-12 from Madison High School with opportunities that will enrich their educational experiences and help make new friends from the other side of the world. The program also offers a series of excursions to different parts of South Korea that may include the capital, Seoul, Busan, and Kyungju, old capital of the ancient Kingdom, Silla. During these excursions, the students will increase their cultural awareness and deepen their understanding of Korean history and its society that cannot be learned from textbooks.
Madison students who are selected to participate would host 2 students from (approximately) January 16-24, 2020. The visit to South Korea would be scheduled during Spring Break in April 2020, approximately April 4-12, 2020. The approximate cost for students will be $1100 (a $3,500 value). There will be an application process, including mandatory background clearances for all adults hosting students in their homes.
There is a parent/student meeting for those interested in applying to the program on Monday, November 11 at 6:00 pm in Warhawk Hall. This meeting should last approximately 30-45 minutes. Both students and parent(s) should attend this meeting if interested in being considered to participate in the exchange program. Further details and applications will be given at this meeting.
Parents or students can also contact Assistant Principal Elise Fasick at @email with any questions.
